About Able Creations
Able Creations was formed early in 2009 by owner Carol Mead. As a highly qualified and very experienced Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, for over two decades, she had nevertheless always loved writing poems and taking photographs. By 2007 she had specifically written some unique poems for special occasions for people, and they were very well received. Carol then started compiling notebooks of her more personal poems, reading them mainly to close friends and family, again all incredibly well received by all.
In 2008 she did her first public reading of a poem at an 'important' birthday party for one of her friends! Shortly afterwards she was asked to read two poems she had written about art and understanding, at the opening of an large four-man art exhibition at the Ucheldre Arts Centre on Anglesey and this can be seen HERE
In April 2009 she read a poem at the launch of her husband Glyn's major exhibition of new work at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, in front of an invited audience including Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas of the Welsh Assembly. This can be heard (in English!) at the end of the following video HERE
And so to July 2009, and the publication of her first proper collection of her poems, in the form of "Sea Things" a 64 page poetry book containing 25 poems and beautifully illustrated by her father in law, artist and illustrator Gareth Davies. Carol already has her sights set on further publications and has written many of the works for the next book - watch this space. Perhaps largely in part to her husband Glyn being a professional landscape photographer and gallery owner, Carol has been taking many stunning images whilst out and about with him. Carol is always looking for the unusual and eye catching in the world about her, often at the small things about us rather than gigantic landscapes. These make beautiful card images and can be purchased here on line or direct from the gallery, details HERE
